Good luck to Jason Higton and Derek Ernst who begin the U.S. Amateur today in Washington!

PRACTICE LIKE YOU PLAY!

Most sport's are practiced in the same environment in which they are played. Field size, rink size, basket height, etc.. don't change! Golf is very unique in that it's usually practiced in a much different environment than it's played. When practicing work on your mechanics but also practice "executing shot's" as if you were on the golf course! Vary target's, vary club's, vary shot shape's, trajectories, etc.. using your pre-shot routine and imagining your on
the golf course!!

SHORT GAME THOUGHT'S

Are chipping, pitching, bunker play, and putting your strength! If not they should be! These are the club's you use the most! These are the shot's that account for at least 60% of your score! Does this area occupy 60% of your practice time? If not, I strongly suggest a new approach to your practice starting with a big commitment to the short game!
